Meet Hayley Waring

Hi! I’m Hayley Waring, M.Ed., LPC-Associate, NCC, supervised by Jessica Gonzales-Latchaw, LPC-s and co-founder of The Growing Place.

At the heart of my work with children, teens and young adults is the belief that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships. I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where you or your child can show up just as you are; messy, growing, curious, hurting, hopeful, and know that it’s okay to be exactly that.

Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, grief, trauma, or a challenging season of life, I would be honored to walk alongside you or your child with compassion, collaboration, and care. If you’re wondering whether therapy might be a good fit, I’m happy to talk through your questions and help you decide next steps.

Originally from New Orleans, I relocated to Texas after Hurricane Katrina. I earned my undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University before completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Christian University, where I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education.

My doctoral research focuses on trauma, resilience and the impact of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) on children’s social and emotional development. I am a certified TBRI® Practitioner and have also completed training in the HALO Project curriculum.

Before working as a therapist, I spent several in early childhood education, leading therapeutic improvisation classes for autistic children and teens, and co-authoring a children’s book about the Covid-19 pandemic. Those experiences continue to shape my work today, reminding me that healing often happens through play, creativity and connection.

If you’re looking for support for your child, teen, or yourself, you can reach me at hayley@thegrowingplacefw.com or 682-277-5574.
